From slim fitting tailoring to punky plaid, the Tartan trend has crept back onto the runway in full force.  
With the interplay of colours and lines, designers such as Marcy J and Tory Burch put there own twist on this Scottish heritage weaving.  Vivienne gave us punk statements, whilst Ralph Lauren illustrated aristocratic panache with strong red and black buffalo plaids.  Whilst tartan is a tradition, its not be confused with your old schoolgirl skirt and I wouldn't go stealing your Great Uncle's kilt for a resurrection.  Opt for a classic 21st century take on this Autumnal print and rock it out as a statement overcoat combined with neutral toned layers.  
You can be punk as well as prim and proper.
