Return of the Dead

If you believe that the hair scrunchie is a relic from an Aerobics class gone by, think again.  In fact, if you believed everything Carrie and the clan of SATC said, think again.  Because this 90's phenomenon is back, and sticking like a second hand piece of gum on your loubs.  It's as dated as the shoulder pad, but the scrunchie is no longer the anti-chic amongst the accessories we burned back when Carrie firmly stated "no woman.... would be caught dead at a hip downtown restaurant wearing a scrunchie".  WRONG. Carrie, oh so WRONG.  The IT gals around town such as Cara D and Cressy B have resurrected this once naffy and oh so trashy accessory and transformed it into a modern must have.  No longer just for old women and the underground drag queens in Soho, the scrunchie represents attitude which is what young London is all about at the moment.  Squeel, Squirm, Scream if you want to but if Marcy J, Louis V and iconic Viv West can work the S-bomb into their fall collections, i feel its only polite we rock this throwback accessory too.  Opt for the casual ‘I don’t care about my hair today’ look or amp up the high fashion stakes and adorn a velvet srunch with some animal ears... everyone’s wearing them.  My apologies Carrie, my sincere apologies.
